Episode 31: Breaking Down Your Behavior Bias
Before we change behavior it’s so important to know why behavior triggers us first. Before we can change anything we need to be aware of what is going on, accept what is going on, acknowledge what needs to change, and then take action. When it comes to behavior management, so often, why I believe plans don’t work is because staff aren’t able to work through their own bias and beliefs when it comes to what believe “should” look like or what is truly “acceptable” behavior from students. This week’s episode will help you ask those questions to yourself to reflect on what your own personal behavior bias is, because once we know that, and can change our beliefs, we can then connect with every single student in our rooms - yes even the most challenging ones!
